But here you are — parenting with someone you’d ghost if you could.

Coparenting in Captivity is a comic about coparenting after separation: custody exchanges, parenting plans, family court, the lawyer who bills like a taxi meter, and the texts that take four drafts.

It isn’t advice and it isn’t therapy. It’s recognition — the specific relief of seeing your Tuesday drawn by someone who clearly had the same Tuesday. If a comic makes you laugh and then sit down for a second, that’s the intended effect.

Whose fault is bad co-parenting?

Coparenting in Captivity comic #16: a dad says the comic is biased against men, a mom says it's biased against women. Actually, we're just biased against bad co-parents.

Plenty of these get drawn twice — once from the mom’s side and once from the dad’s — because high-conflict coparenting doesn’t care about gender and neither do we. The Who’s bad? switch up top picks which version you see, everywhere on the site, and remembers it. Leave it on Auto and each comic shows the version it was drawn as.

Whose fault is this comic?

A group of coparents who have lived it, and lived to joke about it. Everything here started as somebody’s actual week.

No comic is meant to represent a real person. Any resemblance is purely unintentional — if one feels pointed, that’s only because this happens to an awful lot of people in much the same way.
