Two grown adults in a sandbox, asking a stranger in a robe to divide up Thanksgiving morning. Nobody plans to end up here.

When the conversation stops working, the decision doesn't disappear — it just moves. It goes to someone who has never met your kids, and who settles it with the rule every kindergarten teacher already knows: we share.
