Coparenting in Captivity comic #67: A child and a parent sit together making a birthday card while legal paperwork is piled nearby and the parent looks weary but engaged. (dad’s point of view)

#67

Some coparenting moments ask us to hold two realities at once: our own hurt and our child’s need for a calm, loving focus.

That can feel exhausting, especially when emotions are still very fresh. Choosing steadiness doesn’t erase what happened; it simply makes room for your child to stay at the center for a little while. If you’ve had to set aside your own feelings to keep a moment gentle for your child, what helped you do it?
